Pupil Premium

The Government believes that the Pupil Premium Fund, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals and their peers by ensuring that the funding is used to tackle disadvantage and close gaps in achievement for all pupils.  Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011 and is allocated to schools, based on the number of pupils who are eligible for free school meals or who have been within the last 6 years while at our schools. Schools also receiving funding for children who have been 'looked after'(in Local Authority care) continuously for more than 6 months and children of service personnel. The School Governors in conjunction with the Headteacher and School Leaders are responsible for deciding how this funding is best spent.  Below you will find our Federation review of last year's spending with a summary of its impact and beneath that a plan for spending for this year.
