SEND Report Question 13

How will the school support my child’s emotional and social development?

We recognise that some children have extra emotional and social needs that need to be developed and nurtured. These needs can manifest themselves in a number of ways, including behavioural difficulties, anxiousness, and being uncommunicative.

All classes follow a structured PSHE curriculum delivered through SCARF, a nationally recognised PSHE provider. However, for those children who find aspects of this difficult we offer

  • Boxhall Profile  assessments and provision on a buy-in basis.
  • Lunchtime Play Leaders and Playground Friends are available to support all children through playground activities.
  • A Drop In clubs run at lunchtime for vulnerable children
  • Social skills groups run by Teaching Assistants
  • A Partnership Mental Health Champion
  • A specialist weekly Forest School group run by our Forest School Leader, which your child may be able to participate in by arrangement with the SENDCo
